Rhododendron Screensaver

I have had several 'Rhodie' people visiting recently and they invariably comment that my computer screensaver is all Rhododendrons! I thought it might be worthwhile repeating the information that was contained in a short article I had done for an issue of the Indumentum.

Setting up a rhodo screensaver is quite easy. The link to the shareware program you need is HERE .

Please note that this program is useful for those with Windows 95, 98, and 2000; Windows XP already contains the equivalent screensaver called My Picture Slideshow that you can set up by right clicking anywhere on your desktop, then click Properties and Screensaver.

Once installed, you can point the program at whatever directory on your computer happens to have the images you have collected with your digital camera, or that you have taken from the net (Hint - if you see an image you like, you can right click on it, and then hit the option "Save image as..." to make it part of your library of pictures. You are welcome to anything on this site, although photo credit if you use them anywhere off your own computer would be appreciated.)

You can put whatever you want into your image directory - cars, boats, pictures of your animals and kids, or (the point here) rhodos, and they will pop up on your screen, cycling randomly for as long as you like - the screensaver program is adjustable.

It can be great fun, as you see something pop up that you don't quite remember, and then sit there trying to figure out what it is and where in the garden it might be.

If you have any problems with it feel free to drop me a note by e-mail.
