Chip Muller is President of the Rhododendron Species Foundation.
His talk on September 17th is entitled:
Wolong Nature Preserve, Sichuan: 1986 and 2006.
Chip traveled to the Wolong with Warren Berg soon after it was open to tourists in 1986. There, they were the first westerners to see R. balangense, and it was from this trip that Corydalis "Blue Panda" was introduced. The 2006 RSF trip retraced the earlier one, and went much farther into the now expanded Preserve. Rhododendron, Meconopsis, Primula, Arisaema and Corydalis are the stars in the cast of hundreds of spring flowers seen in this mountainous region of the Balang Shan on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau of Western China. Chip will talk about both trips.
